The book was published in 2010 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Else Alfelt's birth. The works, reproduced in large numbers, both paintings and watercolors, are representative of the artist and are also relevant to the exhibition at the Carl-Henning Pedersen and Else Alfelt Museum that marked the occasion.
Else Alfelt died prematurely in 1974 at the age of 64, leaving behind little in the way of written material. The book is therefore an extensive research-based publication, including private photographs and a biography written by Lotte Korshøj.
The foreword was written by Hanne Lundgren, and the editing was a collaboration between the two.
