A new and eventful period in Birk began in the 1960s when Herning Folk High School and the Angli factory were built on the areas south of the main road between Hammerum and Herning. The area, previously characterized by agriculture, now became the place where visionary people attempted to realize their ideas about industry, education, art, and architecture.
