Through a selection of images spanning more than 30 years, "A Photographic Odyssey" presents Sidsel Ramson as one of the great, humanistically-minded photographers who seeks out countries far from Scandinavia to meet people and photograph them in their daily lives.
People are depicted at work, during various religious rituals, in moments of enjoyment, amusement, and contemplation – but also with poignant images of poverty and young children who are unhappy. Because they are starving, suffering deprivation, are lonely, or live in war zones.
Sidsel Ramson's photographic odyssey is a narrative about the diversity of the world, emphasizing the common humanity that binds us together.
