Countless times, Carl-Henning Pedersen's works have been linked to the Russian artist Marc Chagall. In both, one sees "floating beings," moving unrealistically across the canvases.
On the occasion of Carl-Henning Pedersen's 85th birthday in 1998, ARKEN Museum of Modern Art chose to explore the relationship further through an exhibition that placed the two artists side by side.
