A Quest for the Phoenix is Sidsel Ramson's tribute to Carl-Henning Pedersen, her life partner and travel companion for more than thirty years.
Carl-Henning Pedersen's highly original artistic universe comprises many thousands of paintings, watercolors, sculptures, drawings, etchings, and lithographs, as well as monumental decorations.
Photographer Sidsel Ramson was born in Norway in 1937. Her unique ability to quickly get close to people has enabled her to photograph in difficult-to-access situations. Sidsel Ramson belongs to the tradition of "engaged photography," founded by Robert Capa, Henri Cartier-Bresson, and David Seymour.
