GIGANT was written in memory of the artist and humanist Svend Wiig Hansen, who throughout his life fought fiercely to give humanity strength, hope, and love.
The book is richly illustrated and illuminates Svend Wiig Hansen's artistic work over five decades. GIGANT was published in 2014 in conjunction with the exhibition of the same name, which was a presentation of the artist unfolded in a collaboration between HEART, the Carl-Henning Pedersen & Else Alfelt Museum, and Brundlund Castle Museum of Art in 2014. Each museum presented a thematic corner of Svend Wiig Hansen's oeuvre:
The Carl-Henning Pedersen & Else Alfelt Museum exhibited gouaches, drawings, graphics, and smaller sculptures, and the Brundlund Castle Museum of Art exhibited drawings, sketches, paintings, and sculptures. HEART provided the setting for several large monumental paintings and decoration projects.
